Alright y'all, things are about to get serious. You ready?

The last few weeks, I’ve been showing you how to capture critical insights from your ad data — stuff you can do with or without Motion.

This week, I’m gonna show you one of Motion’s most advanced features: Winning Combinations.

Winning Combinations reports help you zoom out and look at macro-level variables that are influencing your ad performance, like different offers, creators, or landing pages.

Let’s say you work with different creators. You might be wondering:

  • Which offer type resonates best with each?
  • What video format is driving the highest engagement?
  • Which hooks and concepts work best with specific creators?

I’m not gonna say you can’t do this analysis without Motion, but I personally wouldn’t want to haha.

It’s basically you trying to cook something with all the ingredients in your pantry vs Gordon Ramsey stepping into your kitchen and throwing together something exquisite with all the same ingredients.

Let me show ya how it works. 👇

Remember naming conventions from a couple emails ago? Setting those up is step #1.

Next, Create a Winning Combinations report.

Now the magic happens. 🪄

Every property you set up in your naming conventions is now available for analysis. Here’s what ours looks like:

From here — the only limits are your imagination.

Here’s a filter example:

  • Set “Talent Type” (influencer, UGC creator, etc) as our primary variable
  • Set my secondary properties as “Key Message,” “Hook Visual,” “Emotion,” and “Quality”
  • Plug in “Demo Booked” and “Cost per Demo Booked” intro the metrics section (you might consider “ROAS,” “CPA,” or other variables)
  • The resulting analysis should help me correlate the ad styling that performs best across different talent types

Wanna peep a video walkthrough? Carissa Boer, our resident Creative Strategist was kind enough to film a demo for ya: Getting Started with Motion’s Winning Combinations Report

“Wait, you aren’t charging extra for this feature??”

I know, I know — crazy, right? 😂

It’s cuz we care. 💜

Now that you have some new tools in your toolbox… Now that you’re becoming a sick AF creative strategist — I’m gonna show you how to structure your creative strategy meetings so you can keep your direction clear and give your creative team the feedback they need to keep pumping out winning ads.

Be back in a few days!

Chow! ✌️
